Here's a link to the round's original goals! WHAT WENT WELL
Major progress on the monthly goals! Ended up sending out many short stories from my backlog, it's a nice feeling! WHAT DIDN'T GO WELL Exercise as always. Honestly it's not horrible, I'm still getting lots of walking in and such, just not the dedicated situps/pushups/squats. TRIAL IMPROVEMENTS Taking it easy, and more reading this week. My brain needs it.

Lots got done! Making focus blocks helped get some major progress. I also did a quick mid week checkin wherein I reassessed my goals for the rest of the week. While I had dropped the habit last quarter due to the world being as it is, I know that it helps me get more done, as shown in this weeks results. WHAT DIDN'T GO WELL Obviously the exercise went in the gutter. It was a particularly stressful week at work, with one big project reaching a deadline. During lunch and after work I destressed by reading (I finished one book and am a quarter through two more) and gaming. Logically I know that exercise releases endorphins which help with stress management, however it's hard to remind myself of such after a long day. TRIAL IMPROVEMENTS Continue to have hour long focus blocks scheduled on my calendar. Prioritize exercise after work. Consider breaking the exercise into more bite sized chunks. Overall a solid week with a bit more exercise than last week, heading in the positive direction! I also finished reading my current audiobook, finished my Amazon reviews, finished the game I was playing, and finished the short story draft I was currently working on. I like weeks that involve a lot of finishing like that! WHAT DIDN'T GO WELL I did not end up doing a Wednesday checkin, I think I was a bit overscheduled (yes even when staying home all the time I have too much social stuff on the docket). I have one less even this week, so I'll try it all again. WHAT COULD IMPROVE A couple blocks of solid time to focus on these things throughout the week would help. I just added a couple of these to my calendar and we'll see how this week goes. Also, if I wanna sew then that'll involve clearing off my sewing table as a first step, so I'll see about doing that this week. Here's a link to the round's original goals! AFTER ACTION REVIEW
It was a rough week at work, yet I still managed to get a surprising amount done. Overall I don't think that I could have done better without taking a toll on myself. I even forgave myself early for the lack of situps/pushups/squats and started the count back at 16 for the weekend. It's tough enough, so staying with the slow and steady increase is the way to go. Continuing my effort to streamline my checkins I've also added pink to my sheet. That will hopefully replace my need for minigoals. A major key here is to make sure to change up the focus area every checkin, even if I didn't make the progress that I wanted. I often get stressed if the same thing is on my to do list for too long, so switching it up will keep everything fresh, and hopefully means more progress in the long run. The last note on my new recording setup. I did get it setup and it does record, but one key function isn't currently working. I sent in a question to the company and we'll see what they say. If I'm lucky then everything will work this week and it'll all be good. If not then the rest of my goals for July might be delayed, and I'll have to focus on something else for a while. We shall see. Welcome to round 3 of round of words 2020! This time staring these goals: The weekly goals are quite similar to before. The main difference is moving activism activities to twice a week, moving recipes to an end of the week check, and doing a bit more on the exercise front. I'm going to keep my normal walks like I have been and am adding in pushups/situps/squats corresponding to the number in the cell. By the end of the round I should be able to do 100 of each in a row. It's simple, works out what needs to get worked out, is strength training which I've been missing, and can be done from home without equipment. Overall should be a fun way to expand my goals.
Monthly goals are also similar. Main difference being changing out basement projects for specific sewing/beading projects. It's not even that different, it's just calling out the fact that I need to be doing something with those items which are in my basement, instead of getting distracted by other choices. The 'out of 13' section saw the most change with me moving activism to twice weekly and cancelling writing blog posts when I don't want to. Adding in Google Play App reviews seems natural. There have been a few times recently where I downloaded an app only to find out that I had used/played it two or three years ago. Obviously they weren't good enough to make an impression and I wish I had left myself a note! Steam reviews was a last minute addition. I'd like to have four options in this category, but it's still too early in COVID for me to add back in Google Map reviews. The Steam reviews are worth doing, but I doubt it'll be lasting more than this round. Lastly the monthly goals. This month is all about audio recording. I spent over four hours yesterday knee deep in learning about microphones, their setups, and how to record at the best possible quality. I then purchased a whole new setup! I'm looking forward to putting it together and hearing the results. (Which is good, since that's the rest of this months goals!) Unsure about the next two months goals yet, the rumor on the wind is house repairs/upgrades, but we'll see what this year brings. For those tuning into this round my master goals list is here. A solid middling week. There are a lot of new responsibilities at work which have led to me having less time and energy at home. Therefore getting as much done as I did is pretty good. Some weeding did get done, but not everything that I had originally set out to do. I've come to terms with this. I just don't like weeding that much and I really don't like being outside when it's as hot as it has been. Therefore, I'm done with it for at least the next two moths. It might come around again in round 4. Other than that I've been thinking a bit about how I want to change my goals to align with what I really want for the next round. I'm not quite finalized on things, but it'll be a bit changed up from what's currently on here. I think I'll be changing the weekly schedule around a bit as well. MINIGOALS While I'll be taking the next week 'off' of my weekly goals (With my main focus being setting up next round's goals.) I'd still like to close out a couple open items so that they don't roll over: Masterclass Basement project Finances within budget Scheduling blog posts For those tuning into this round my master goals list is here. Overall a good week with a lot done at the start and then a more relaxing weekend. I'd like to get back to two check in posts a week starting next round, with progress on both halves of the week. I understand why that didn't happen this round and I'm happy that I gave myself the space I needed to deal with reality as it is. I did actually do one of the beading projects that I took off of the list from last round while watching some youtube videos and otherwise relaxing. Furthermore I made significant progress on the major remaining basement project. Minigoals wise I did fix the Masterclass login and started to listen again. I did ask for help with the basement project which is why I made progress. I wrote the draft of the short story, edited, and submitted it. (I really enjoyed it, and it was nice to write again!) I didn't schedule blog posts. I did record six podcast episodes. I weeded two of the major area's that need weeding and was very happy to be inside during the rest of the heatwave. MINIGOALS Weed three remaining area's of the yard Finish basement project Finish masterclass Finish blog posts Record some more of the podcast Record some more of the audiobook For those tuning into this round my master goals list is here. This week wasn't as focused as I would have preferred, and thus less got done than I was hoping. Still I know that I was still recovering from last week and needed the extra time for gaming, reading, and generally having less stuff on my plate. To that regard I took off the sewing/beading projects, with the intention of doing those next round. I did some more reading. Not sure I'll do much more with helping local friends since I still don't want to visit others if I can help it. I'll still keep it here because it's something I'd like to be mindful of and strive towards. Yard tending got a big boost/catchup yesterday, when the weather was my idea of perfect (70 exactly and slightly cloudy) so I was outside for a good chunk of the day. There are five big area's that I'd like to get to in the yard to do at least one set of massive weeding in each, then I'll consider the massive yard tending goal done, and will upkeep when reasonably possible. Considering how hot this year has been already it might be a while before I get out there a lot again, and that's ok. MINIGOALS I think these need to be a bit more focused on next steps towards getting my goals finished by the end of the month, therefore these are the goals. Fix login for Masterclass Ask for help with basement project Write draft of short story Schedule blog posts Record three podcast episodes Weed two of the major areas that need weeding For those tuning into this round my master goals list is here. It was a heck of a week for both reasons in the outside world and at work. I think you can see that from all the red on the chart. I focused on what was most important and I think did the best that I could do all things considered. Normally I would post later in the day in hopes of getting more done, but instead I'm going to forgive myself for everything that didn't get done this week and refocus on what needs to get done, and any ways that I'll be able to help prepare for this upcoming week. And actually now that I'm reviewing this I did finish reading two books and checked my finances for the week. Not to mention doubling my activism activities! There was more that I got done than I realized! MINIGOALS Watch another season of She-Ra Catch up on sewing/beading projects Work on basement project! Overall I've been feeling better mentally, and have more spoons. That means that I got a lot done, particularly reading five books and watching a whole season of She-Ra! I've also decided I'm ready to do a couple more big, fun, projects for June. That'll help taper the yard tending goal, which is hard to work on when it's too hot out. There's also a new section for sewing/beading projects. I have all of those supplies at home and should be using them/enjoying them! There's one more general basement project that I want to finish this month, then I'll probably take that off next round and just have the sewing/beading projects. Eventually I'd like to work on basement projects again, but most of them involve extra supplies that I don't have right now and don't want to go out to get.
