I present to you Eight Sentence Sunday, a blog hop hosted by Weekend Writing Warriors. I just finished participating in National Novel Writing Month, so you'll be seeing parts from that for the next couple of weeks. A breeze flowed in threw thru window, caressing her hair as gently as her mother. Was being awake not full of pain anymore? Perhaps. She decided she would try to open her eyes. In front of her was the large open living room window looking over locks hill, with the ever-cloud above it, looking down on all of them as always. But, was it lower than the last time she noticed it? Perhaps it was just the placement of the sun, it was the afternoon. The fun behind her, shining on the thick cloud, pretending to show her the treasure inside. "Are you awake?"

This was a year with a lot going on, and with that I've been ignoring my personal website and blog quite a bit. Considering the progress that's been made I think it was a worthwhile trade. 1) The first and most noticeable was both editing and getting published in the anthology "Dark and Bitter". It was a treat to work on a book with many great stories, and with the wonderful women who own the company. 2) I attended Bouchercon for the first time. While I have been to a large number of science fiction and fantasy conventions before this was my first mystery convention. It was a blast! Everyone was friendly and the paneling was phenomenal. I learned a lot, which I'm sure will reflect in my future publications. 3) I attempted, and won, NaNoWriMo again this year! I worked on a completely new piece, which was needed. I wrote a bit over 50,000 words and finished up the story. I've always written lean, so I expect to add another 20,000 words during the editing process and then send it off to the agents, hopefully by the end of next year. 4) The last project for the year is writing a short story for Pub 518's next anthology "Exploits in the Adirondacks". I hope you're all ready for another murder mystery. I present to you Eight Sentence Sunday, a blog hop hosted by Weekend Writing Warriors. A movement let her know that her mother was close, just a blur in her vision, but a soothing voice engulfed her.
"It's ok honey, we love you. We'll get the best help that we can." Her father's deep voice shot through the mist of her mind. "The doctors haven't been able to do anything. It's been months. Don't promise things that you won't be able to keep, it's just a form of lying." "There is another option, one that we should consider." "I won't be a part of anything so blasphemous." I know it's been a while since I've posted on my blog. While there were some personal life things which were getting in the way this was mostly because I was writing, reading, and editing. In fact I've had the pleasure of being the editor of Pub 518's first publication "Dark and Bitter". The pleasure is doubled due to their kindness in publishing one of my pieces of flash fiction in the same anthology. I realize that I didn't mention my editing for "Pocket Full of Horror" earlier in the year and I should have. It's a wonderful collection of poetry which I highly recommend.
With all of that being said. As an editor for two small press pieces I am pleased to announce my nominees for this year’s Pushcart Prize. Congratulations to you all! The Bracelet by SJ Garman Being Colette by Shan Jeniah Burton Noir by Jaz Johnson mid-night ghosts by Herb Kauderer |
