I present to you Eight Sentence Sunday, a blog hop hosted by Weekend Writing Warriors. For my very first #8Sunday post on this website I have the first eight lines of the second scene of my Moon Murder rewrite. The first scene is available as an audio sample on my sample chapters page if you want to give it a listen! It was impossible to miss the tall man standing next to the teal skinned alien holding a sign saying ‘Watts’. Zheng walked up to them, “Are we in the 1950s now?” “I had seen a movie where humans held signs while waiting for someone they hadn’t met before. Is this not normal?” Zheng took a moment to look the thing over before responding. Ignoring the blue skin he was almost human, yet parts of him were off. His eyes were big, and his head seemed out of proportion with his body. Almost like a child. Check out more at http://www.wewriwa.com/.

It's going to be a running joke in this book! If you see any places a reference can be added in future posts please let me know.

Interesting scene, well described. Not sure what prompts the remark about the 1950's but I'm sure if I was reading along in the full book, it would all make perfect sense! Happy New Year!

There's a running joke that the alien uses particularly old cultural references, generally from the 1930s-1950s. I'm glad that you like scene!

Despite his large, childlike eyes, I bet this alien is no naive child.

Hmmm...I seem to remember having seen this somewhere before....oh, right. On my monitor, all highlighted in pretty colors, even!
