Eight Sentence Sunday #3

I present to you Eight Sentence Sunday, a blog hop hosted by Weekend Writing Warriors. I have the first eight lines of the second scene of my Moon Murder rewrite. The first scene is available as an audio sample on my sample chapters page if you want to give it a listen!

The lever let out a oozing tube of gray slime in circles. As the tube went to the edge of the plate it started to work its way back in again, the gray goop making a squeaky sound as it landed on top of the first layer.

Alexander picked up the plate. "The consistency looks a little off, I'll have to have a talk with the train conductor."

"That looks nasty." 16 eyed the stuff as her stomach rumbled.

"It actually tastes like nothing. Perhaps thick water. The taste comes from the tubes." He gestured at the ceiling.
